The sebaceous glands make an oily substance called sebum that normally empties onto the skin surface through the opening of the follicle, commonly called a pore. Cells called keratinocytes line the follicle. The sebaceous glands which lie just under the surface of your skin produce sebum, the skins natural moisturizer. These glands and the hair follicles where they are found are called sebaceous follicles. This trapped sweat, mixed with the oil secreted by the sebaceous glands, causes the skin pores on the back to clog and the result is acne.

In darker-skinned people, dermabrasion may cause changes in pigmentation that require additional treatment. The brush or wheel rotates quickly to take off the layer of skin. This injures the face (or other area being worked on) and causes bleeding. Moreover, water helps to carry oxygen and nutrient to our internal body, keeping our organs (skin is the body’s largest organ) healthy and able to fight acne. The benefits of water in acne prevention and treatments are numerous, but it’s important to take note that everything must be consumed in moderation and this includes water as well.
